The State Property Department has given notice to former state minister Chaudhary Lal Singh to vacate his government residence in Gandhi Nagar. Confirming the notice, Chaudhary Lal Singh has said that he has been given a notice to vacate the government residence for raising the issues of rights and interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He is looking for private accommodation for himself in Jammu and will soon vacate the government accommodation. He was the Environment Minister in the PDP-BJP coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir from 2015 to 2018. Prior to this, he was also the Health Minister in the state government.
Later, he resigned from the BJP in protest against the famous Rasana incident of the state. It is to be known that earlier the state’s former Chief Minister and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has also been given notice by the Estate Department to vacate the government residence at Gupkar in Srinagar.
Mehbooba had also said after receiving this notice that she would soon vacate the government residence. While another former Chief Minister and NC Vice President Omar Abdullah has already vacated his official residence in Srinagar.
