Accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda
Jammu and Kashmir: A car has become a victim of an accident in Doda district on Tuesday. According to the information received, this car slipped from the road and fell into the Chenab river, in which at least 4 people are feared drowned. In this case, the statement of Sub-Collector (Thathiri) Athar Amin Zargar has come to the fore. He said that the accident took place at Shibnot-Karara on Batote-Kishtwar National Highway at around 7.30 pm.
According to the official, the car was on its way from Doda to Kishtwar when it suddenly fell into the flowing river. A police team, along with local volunteers and rafters of JK Adventures stationed near the site of the incident in Shibnot, launched a rescue operation, but the vehicle and its four occupants have not been found, the sub-collector said.
Ghulam Nabi Azad was seen on the spot
Former Chief Minister and Democratic Azad Party chief Ghulam Nabi Azad, who is visiting Doda and Kishtwar districts, was seen at the accident site in a video shared from the area. He was accompanied by his colleague and former minister GM Saroori, who can be heard in the video appealing to expedite the rescue operation. Officials said Azad was returning after addressing public meetings at Changa-Bhalesa and Gali-Batoli in Doda district.
