Half a dozen police teams were raided across the country
The person who was misleading the Jabalpur police of MP by saying that his name is Abhijit Patidar and a resident of Gujarat, is now behind the bars in the form of Hemant Bhadane. From killing the girlfriend in the resort to getting caught, the story is no less than the story of a thriller and suspense movie. For 10 days after the incident, the way half-a-dozen police teams spread across the country, probably a short movie of a similar crime story would have been shot in that number of days. This accused, who fled from Jabalpur, used to leave his evidence in all the states of the country where he fled, but kept the direction of the next location in such a way that the police kept roaming around.
Adopted every trick to escape, except ATM
Age just 29 years..and with a long list of 37 crimes till now, Hemant Bhadane wanted to leave Maharashtra and make a girl from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh his life partner. Perhaps even knowing that the girl he has befriended is from which profession. A sudden craze made him a murderer. That too in a vicious way preplanned way. Hemant, who ran away after giving an open challenge to the Jabalpur police, used every method to escape. But he did not know that in the high-tech era, even the ATM of the girl can get him caught. After running away, in every city in which he withdrew money from ATM, the police kept getting his location. Last time his transaction in Ajmer and the picture captured in CCTV footage put an end to all his smartness.
Nefis system also found the way of the accused
By calling himself Abhijeet Patidar, the accused had made complete arrangements to dodge the police. In the videos posted from the Instagram ID of the deceased Shilpa Jharia, the name was mentioned as Abhijeet Patidar. So that the police, the police and even the public could not recognize his real name. The matching of the fingerprints with the Nefis system between the changing locations of the accused was the only link that revealed his real name. A few years ago, after he was caught in a theft case in Nashik, his fingerprints were taken by the Maharashtra Police. The fingerprints found by the Jabalpur police from the room of the resort where the incident took place, matched and the real face of Hemant Bhadane came to the fore.
What is Nefis System?
NAFIS i.e. National Automated Fingerprint Identification System.. Police Investigation has started adopting this modern method some time back. In which after the criminals are caught anywhere, their fingerprint data is stored. Under the pilot project, it has been implemented in 18 states of the country in January 2022 itself. In which Madhya Pradesh is also included. Through this technical investigation, it is also known about the criminal in how many states and cities he was active. In a way, his complete horoscope comes to the fore with name, address and criminal record. After the introduction of this system, files of about 30 old crimes in MP are open for investigation. In Jabalpur zone alone, three murder and four theft incidents were revealed with the help of this system.
Police got remand for 2 days, accused was beaten up
Jabalpur police presented the accused in the court, from where he is on remand for two days. Some people slapped Hemant while taking him into police custody in the court premises. People are angry with the brutality with which Hemant killed Shilpa and then posted her video on social media. Even while going back from the court, the accused does not have any remorse for his actions. He said that Shilpa tortured him. She used to roam in a car with a girl in Patna. Hemant is still giving the old statement that he killed Shilpa at the behest of Patna’s Jitendra Kumar. Police say that in remand for two days, the accused will be interrogated thoroughly in connection with the entire case. The whereabouts of the accused and how he was using the ATM card including Shilpa’s Instagram ID will be ascertained.
