Today it is a situation that there are many centurions in ODI cricket and T20 also and now there is a competition among the batsmen to score maximum runs in minimum number of balls. The latest name in this series is Ishan Kishan, who has left behind many legends of world cricket by scoring the fastest double century in just 126 balls in the third match of the ODI series against Bangladesh.
Ishan Kishan scored a total of 210 runs in this one-day match against Bangladesh (India vs Bangladesh) played in Chittagong. He snatched the record of scoring the fastest double century from former West Indies batsman Chris Gayle. Gayle crossed the magic figure of double century by playing 138 balls in the match played against Australia in Canberra. It would be interesting to know here that Ishaan Kishan had not scored a century in ODI cricket before this innings. He played his first ODI against Sri Lanka in 2021 on the day of his anniversary on 18th July and started his blistering half-century with a six.
He is the first batsman to do so in the last 20 years. Earlier in March 2021, Ishaan Kishan scored a half-century against England in his first T20 match.
