Mumbai: Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians have appointed J Arunkumar, who had a 16-year stint in domestic cricket, as assistant batting coach.
Arunkumar, a right-handed opening batsman, has played over 100 first-class matches. He played domestic cricket for Karnataka between 1993 and 2008.

After retiring from cricket, he became the batting coach of Karnataka when his team won the Ranji Trophy, Irani Cup and Vijay Hazare Trophy. He has also been the head coach of the Puducherry team and since 2020 is the head coach of the US national cricket team. (agency)
