IPL 2023 Auction: Foreign cricketers have once again become everyone’s favorite in the auction of Indian Premier League (IPL) players. In the auction so far, England all-rounder Sam Curran has created history and achieved the status of the most expensive player sold in the IPL. Curran was bought by Punjab Kings for a record Rs 18.50 crore. The base price of Kuren was just Rs 2 crore. Let us tell you that in the history of IPL auction, former South African all-rounder Chris Morris was bought for the highest price so far. Rajasthan Royals bought him in 2021 for Rs 16.25 crore. Morris is now retired.

Australian player Cameron Green was bought by Mumbai Indians for 17.50 crores, while his base price was only 2 crores. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings bought Ben Stokes of England for Rs 16.25 crore. Apart from these, Caribbean player Nicholas Pooran has been bought by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 16.25 crore. Nicholas Pooran’s performance in the T20 World Cup was nothing special. England’s Harry Brook also fetched a very high price. 23-year-old Harry Brook made his debut in international cricket in the year 2022 and displayed excellent batting against Pakistan. He had kept his base price of Rs 1.5 crores, but Sunrisers Hyderabad included him in his team by paying Rs 13.25 crores.
IPL Auction Highlights:
- At the beginning of the auction, the first bid was on New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. He was bought by defending champions Gujarat Titans for his base price of Rs 2 crore.
- England’s Harry Brook has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a record Rs 13.25 crore. Brook’s base price was just Rs 1.5 crore.
- Mayank Agarwal has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.25 crore. Punjab and CSK bid to buy Mayank Agarwal.
- Ajinkyarhane has been bought by Chennai Super Kings for his base price of Rs 50 lakhs.
