New Delhi: Preparations for the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) have started. The players’ bid for this season of IPL is going to be held from this month. At the same time, now the date of bidding has been fixed. The BCCI has already confirmed that the deadline for registration of players for the IPL auction is over. At the same time, on December 23, around 1000 players will be auctioned in Kochi. A maximum of 87 players will be sold on 23rd December.

A total of 991 players have made themselves available for auction in IPL 2023, including 714 Indians and 277 overseas players. It includes some big names like England batsman Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, Joe Root and Mayank Agarwal. The 277 overseas players include 20 players from Associate countries.
Of the 277 overseas players, 185 are capped players, with Ben Stokes, Cameron Green and Sam Curran expected to fetch big bids. Australia has the highest number of players, with 57, while South Africa has registered 52 players. . Players have also registered from UAE, Namibia, Scotland and Netherlands.
