Initiative for child sensitivity in Nalanda: Seminar organized among Panchayat level stakeholders

Keeping in view the best interests of the children, a seminar on child labor issues was organized on Friday in a hotel in Rajgir along with public representatives of the Panchayat. Members of Save the Children as well as representatives of all panchayats participated in the seminar.

Presiding over this seminar organized under the auspices of Save the Children, project coordinator Piyush Kumar discussed in detail about child rights, rehabilitation of children in child labor and other exploitation, education and the role of local people and possible solutions to the challenges. He said that child labor and child marriage are the biggest causes of hindrance in the development of children.

Said that a committee has been formed at the panchayat level to eradicate it. The main objective of this seminar was how to strengthen the community based wall security committee. The efforts being made by the stakeholders present in the seminar were discussed.Piyush Kumar The Minister informed that all the stakeholders have taken a pledge to improve the future of the children, and discussed about the protection of the children.

On this occasion, Pax President Co-Chief Representative of Mayar Panchayat, Arun Kumar while appreciating the efforts being made by Save the Children for the welfare of the children, said that today people in the panchayat are becoming aware for the eradication of child marriage and child labour. Apart from giving information to the people, the representatives of the Panchayat are also trying to eradicate child labour. He said that a meeting should be organized in every Panchayat. With this, more and more people will be able to understand this thing easily. It is said that especially children should be associated with education, if people are educated, then whatever social evils are there, they will automatically end from the society. On this occasion Ravi Kumar, Abhas Kumar, Achyutanand Pandey, Bikki, Amarendra from Save the Children, apart from Mukhiya Gana, Ward members, Sarpanch, Panch members etc were present.
