INDvAUS 3rd test: The third match of the ongoing Test series between India and Australia has been shifted from Dharamshala to Indore. This match will be played from 1 to 5 March. Actually, due to heavy rains, the ground and pitch of Dharamshala could not be ready on time. This is the reason why the match has been shifted to Indore.

According to the BCCI, the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was scheduled to be held in Dharamshala, which has now been shifted to Indore. It is getting cold here. Also there is not enough grass in the outfield. It will take some more time to prepare the ground.

MPCA not aware

Sanjeev Rao, secretary of the host Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), told that we have no official or verbal information about the match being held in Indore. We have also got information from the BCCI website. It is a matter of pride for the city to have a Test match in Indore.

BCCI took the decision after inspection

The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association had started the work of preparing the entire outfield including the pitch from the beginning of the monsoon. The work went on swiftly, but a part of the ground is not yet fit for play. BCCI has decided to shift to Indore after inspection.

BCCI sources were quoted as saying that there was no problem with the pitch, but work is yet to be done in the outfield. Due to this apprehension, the BCCI had started brainstorming at some other places including Mohali, Bengaluru and Indore.

Only one Test has been played in Dharamshala

So far only one Test match has been played at Dharamshala ground. This match was played in 2017 between India vs Australia. Dharamshala is one of the most beautiful cricket grounds not only in India, but in the whole world.
