    In the first match of the 3-match T20 series played at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, Team India defeated Sri Lanka in the last ball in a very thrilling match. Now the second match will be played in Pune on Thursday, January 5. Captain Hardik Pandya (Hardik Pandya Captain Team India IND vs SRL T20I Series, 2023) and company has reached Pune. But, Sanju Samson has not been able to come. According to reports, he might not be able to play the Pune match due to a knee injury.

    According to sources, wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson was advised to stay back in Mumbai for city scan and treatment. A decision will be taken on his playing in the next matches only after seeing the city scan report.

    Significantly, during the first match played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium last Tuesday, Sanju Samson was injured while trying to take a diving catch at long off. He had missed this catch.

    In the first match of this latest series, Team India scored 162 runs in 20 overs while batting first. For India, Deepak Hooda played the biggest innings of 41 runs off 23 balls. Akshar Patel also added 31 runs. Opener Ishaan Kishan also scored 37 runs in 29 balls. Bowler Shivam Mavi, playing his first international match, took 4 wickets. However, Deepak Hooda got the Player of the Match award for adding runs for the team in tough times.
