After winning the 3-match T20I series 2-1 against South Africa, India will now play a 3-match ODI series (IND vs SA ODI Series, 2022) against South Africa. The first match will be played on 6th October, i.e. tomorrow at 1.30 pm. Shikhar Dhawan will captain the Indian team in this series. Along with this, this series will be a preparation from the perspective of next year’s ICC ODI World Cup, 2023, to choose new players as alternatives. In the ODI series to be played against South Africa, the team in the absence of greats like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin. The selectors have built a young team full of young players like Mukesh Kumar and Rajat Patidar.
It is worth noting that the Indian team for this series also includes some reserve layers of the ICC T20 World Cup, 2022. One of which is the vice-captain of middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer. Apart from them, right arm fast bowler Deepak Chahar and leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi are also in the Indian team in this ODI series.

There is every possibility that in the ODI series against South Africa, Shubman Gill will take the field for the opener with captain Shikhar Dhawan. In this series, Rahul Tripathi or Rajat Patidar can be given an opportunity to debut in One Day Internationals. Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan are also included in Team India.
The seamers squad against South Africa consists of Shardul Thakur, Chahar, Avesh Khan and Mohammad Siraj and Mukesh Kumar. Significantly, Mukesh Kumar took the most wickets in first class matches against New Zealand ‘A’. Ranji Trophy 2019-20 champion Saurashtra also showed his sharp bowling in the Irani Cup against the team.
On the other hand, in the batting squad of South Africa team (IND vs SA ODI Series, 2022), Quinton de Kock, Captain Temba Bavuma Captain Team South Africa, Aiden Markram, David Miller (David Miller), Reeza Hendrix and Jaaneman Malan.
