New Delhi: In the T20 World Cup 2022 (T20 World Cup 2022), the way Team India won the India-Pakistan (IND vs PAK) match on Sunday was commendable. The last over of this match was very interesting. In which India needed 16 runs to win. The last over came to bowl Pakistan’s spin all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz. Nawaz took 2 wickets in this over, but he could not save 16 runs.

Nawaz conceded only three runs in the first three balls with a wicket. Even the match was completely in the hands of Pakistan. But, then the fourth ball of this over became the turning point of the match. Now a debate has also started regarding this fourth ball. Actually, Nawaz had kept a full toss on the fourth ball of the over. It seemed to be coming just below the waist. Kohli hit a six on this ball, but then he asked the umpire for a no-ball. After which the umpire called this ball a no-ball and from here the direction of the match was reversed.

Now on this no-ball being given, former cricketers Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and Moin Khan have questioned this decision of the umpire. Veteran player Shoaib Malik has also spoken on this issue.

According to Wasim Akram, the on-field umpire should have taken the help of the third umpire before awarding the no-ball. He said, ‘The ball was seen coming down. The batsman will demand a no-ball but if you have the technology then you should have used it.

Waqar Younis said, ‘Square leg umpire should have discussed this with the chief umpire first. After that he could go to the third umpire. That’s why the third umpire is sitting. This decision should have been left to him.

Shoaib Akhtar, while tweeting on this ball, has advised the umpire to think. In the tweet, he wrote, ‘Umpire brothers, this is a matter to think about for tonight.’

Rameez Raja also tweeted and said, ‘A classic match! You win some, you lose some. For all you know this match can be cruel and unfair. Pakistan team could not have done better than this with bat and ball. Proud for this effort.

However, Moin Khan has termed this ball as a no-ball. He said, ‘On seeing the replays, this ball is seen as a no-ball, the only mistake here is that the umpire should have seen the replay at that time also.’

Shoaib Malik also said something similar. He said, ‘When you have the option of third umpire, then help should have been taken. This was necessary especially in such big and important matches. It would have been better if the decision was taken after watching the replays.

Talking about the match, Pakistan, batting first, set a target of 160 runs in front of India in 20 overs. In response, Team India, who landed on the field, had a bad start. Captain Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul both lost their wickets early. However, later Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya together took charge of India’s innings, where Pandya played an important innings of 40 runs. The match went on till the last ball, in which Ashwin took a single and India won the match and defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets.
