    IND vs NZ | India’s 1st T20 against New Zealand abandoned due to rain

    Wellington: The first T20 International match of the three-match series between India and New Zealand (India vs New Zealand T20 Series) was canceled without a single ball being bowled due to rain.

    Toss was also not possible due to rain. The next T20 match of the series will be played at Mount Maunganui on Sunday. India now has to play two more T20 Internationals and a three-match ODI series on this tour.

    In the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya is leading the Indian T20 team while wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is the vice-captain. Apart from Rohit, veteran batsman Virat Kohli and opener Lokesh Rahul have been rested for this tour.

    In the absence of experienced players, Shubman Gill, Umran Malik, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson have been given a chance in the team.
