The ICC fined the team 60% of its match fee for slow overs in the first match in Hyderabad. The action was taken by Javagal Srinath, head of the Elite Panel of Match Referees of the Cricket Board. As per ICC Rule No. 2.22, 20% of the match fee of players, support staff is deducted for every over not bowled in the stipulated time. Accordingly, the team has been fined 60 per cent. If the rate of overs is slow in the second match as well, then captain Rohit Sharma may be banned for one match.
