Team India is on a tour of Bangladesh. A 2-match test series will be played between India and Bangladesh. The first match is scheduled from December 14 to 18. Captain Rohit Sharma, the regular captain of the Indian team, will not be able to play in this match because of an injury to his left thumb. But, perhaps he can return to the field in the second match of the series. But, it will be decided by the medical team of BCCI. Abhimanyu Easwaran will play in his place.
Significantly, Team India’s lethal fast bowler Mohammed Shami and the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja have not yet recovered from the injury. That’s why they will also be out of this series. These two have been replaced by Navdeep Saini and Saurabh Kumar in the BAN vs IND Test Series, 2022.

The BCCI team selectors have also included fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat in Team India for the Test series against Bangladesh. Unadkat has returned to the Test team of the Indian team after 12 years. If he is included in the playing XI, he will be the player to field the longest gap between the first and second Test matches in the history of Indian Test cricket.
