Australia scored 177 runs in the first innings. After Rohit’s 120, Ravindra Jadeja scored 66 and Akshar Patel was not out after scoring 52 runs. Off-spinner Todd Murphy took five wickets for Australia.
Earlier, as soon as the second day’s play started, captain Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin started moving the score while playing cautiously in the beginning. However, Ashwin became the victim of Todd Murphy after scoring 23 runs. After this, everyone expected a long innings from Cheteshwar Pujara who came out to bat. But he could not succeed.
