Melbourne: Australia leg-spinner Alana King is excited about playing in the five-match T20 International series in India where a good performance could earn her a place in the upcoming Women’s IPL. The five-match T20 series will be played in Mumbai from December 9. Elena has an emotional connection with India. His father Leroy and mother Sharon were born in Chennai, after which they settled in Melbourne.
Elena (Alana King) told the Australian Associated Press (AAP), “Some family friends will probably come to visit. There are some friends in Mumbai. I hope to get a chance to meet him and watch him play in front of me. It would be fantastic.” Elena has visited India several times with her family. She was last here in 2016 and met her relatives and family friends then.

She said, “When I talk to him, it is as if nothing has changed. It will be great for them to see me playing cricket.” The leg-spinner said, “I am sure there will be an influx of messages on WhatsApp as the match draws closer.” Elena, who played for the Supernovas in this year’s T20 Challenge in India, has been in great form over the past 12 months. After making his Ashes debut last year, he took 31 wickets across formats at an average of 20.87.
He played a key role in Australia’s retention of the Ashes, the 50-over World Cup and the Commonwealth Games gold medal. The series will also be crucial for the preparations for the T20 World Cup, starting February 10 in South Africa, while a good performance in the series can help the players stake their claim for the maiden women’s IPL to be held in March.
