Pakistan : The police of Pakistan’s Punjab province has arrested two more suspects in connection with the murderous attack on former Prime Minister Imran Khan. According to media reports, both these suspects are believed to have sold pistols and bullets to Naveed Mohammad Bashir, who fired at Khan.
The convoy of the 70-year-old Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief was attacked and shot in the leg on Thursday during a protest march in Wazirabad in Punjab province. One person has died and at least 10 people have been injured in the attack. Bashir later confessed that he attacked Khan because “he was trying to mislead the people”.

According to the news given by Geo TV quoting police sources, the suspects have been identified as Waqas and Sajid Butt and they had sold pistols and bullets to Bashir for Rs 20,000. The news said that he has been arrested from Wazirabad in Punjab province. According to eyewitnesses, Bashir fired at a container that was kept on a truck and Khan was in it.
According to the party, Khan was taken by road to Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore where he was operated upon. His condition is stable. Interestingly, this hospital was built by Khan himself and it is named after his mother. (agency)
