    Husband sentenced to life imprisonment for wife’s killer: Aurangabad Civil Court’s decision, used to ask for money after having a daughter

    The husband, who shot dead his own wife for money, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the court. A fine has also been imposed there. The said decision has been given by Chief Justice of Aurangabad Civil Court Special Court MP MLA Ashok Raj while hearing in Haspura police station case number 36/18. Convicted accused Rahul Sharma is a resident of Haspura. He had killed his own wife.

    During the hearing, the defense counsel sought minimum punishment. While APP Kamta Prasad Singh demanded severe punishment, calling it a heinous crime. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court convicted the accused.

    He used to demand money after the birth of a girl child, when he did not give it, he was shot dead

    On March 12, 2018, Baban Singh, a resident of Bareb of Mufassil police station, had registered a case in Haspura police station in connection with the murder of a married woman. In which it was said that Rinke, the deceased married woman, was married to Rahul in 2010. After three years the baby girl was born. After which Rahul used to demand money from his parents. On not giving, he shot and killed his wife.

    After registering the case, he was taken into police custody on March 14, 2018. APP preferred advocate Kamta Prasad Singh said that accused Rahul Sharma was convicted on 23 November 2022. The accused has been sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Rs 20,000 under IPC section 302. Failure to pay the fine will result in additional simple imprisonment for four months.

    IPC Section 498A has been imposed with a sentence of three years and a fine of Rs 5,000. Failure to pay the fine will result in two months’ imprisonment. In the same 27 Shastra Act, seven years rigorous imprisonment has been sentenced. And a fine of Rs 10,000 has been imposed. Failure to pay the fine will lead to additional simple imprisonment for three months. All the sentences will run concurrently.
