Additional District and Sessions Judge-III Thakur Aman Kumar on Thursday sentenced one-year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. After sentencing, both father and son were sent to Mandal Jail Khagaria.

According to the information received from Special Public Prosecutor Mohd. Sher Ali Khan regarding the incident, the court has given the above sentence after finding sufficient evidence against both the accused. According to the information received last year, on December 15, 2021, during a raid in Karna village, Parbatta police recovered seven hundred grams of ganja kept in black colored polythene in Mantu Singh’s grocery shop on secret information. On the spot, the shop owner Mantu Singh and his father Vedanand Singh, residents of Karna, were arrested and sent to jail on the charge of selling ganja. It is said that both father and son were involved in the black business of drugs under the guise of a grocery shop, whose complaint was being received by the police. After which the police raided the shop and took action.

Ganja and smack business increased after prohibition
