The employees have decided to extend the strike till October 23 due to non-acceptance of the 16-point demands. He says that on the very first day, Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta had a meeting with the union leaders. No consensus could be reached in the meeting. The situation is worsening due to lack of cleanliness in the cities.
The employees are adamant about their demands and the government has made it clear that their demands cannot be met. Angered by this, the workers have extended the strike. On the other hand, the Director of Fire and Emergency Services Haryana has implemented ESMA on firefighters across the state.
Letters have been sent to all DCs and concerned officials. It has been said in the letter that if any employee joins the strike, then action should be taken against him under ESMA. Leave of all firefighters and officers should not be granted and their leave on leave should be cancelled. After the implementation of ESMA, the employees expressed their anger by burning copies of the implementation of the ESMA Act in all the districts.
