The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing a tough competition from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the assembly elections to be held in Gujarat by the end of this year. The crowd at the public meetings of AAP leaders has increased the concern of the BJP ‘think tank’. In such a situation, BJP has run its master stroke to woo the voters.
Actually, the Bharatiya Janata Party is going to launch ‘Gujarat Gaurav Yatra’ in the state before the elections. This yatra will start from today on five different routes, which will be inaugurated by BJP President JP Nadda.
The focus will be on tribal voters
The main objective of this visit of BJP is to cultivate tribal voters. In fact, tribal voters have traditionally been voting for the Congress, now the Aam Aadmi Party is busy wooing these voters. In such a situation, the routes chosen by the BJP for its journey are aimed at strengthening its hold on such voters.
‘Gaurav Yatra’ in Gujarat for the third time
This is the third time that BJP is going to start Gaurav Yatra in Gujarat. Earlier in 2002, the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi took out this yatra after the 2002 communal riots. After this a similar yatra was launched in the 2017 elections as well. Both the times the BJP has benefited. In 2002, the BJP had won 127 of the total 182 seats. At the same time, in 2017, the party got 99 seats and the Congress 77 seats. Political experts believe that the BJP is excited by the benefits received in both the Gaurav Yatra, it is sure that it will benefit this time also.
The journey will start from Dwarka
BJP President JP Nadda will start this journey from Dwarka. The second route of the journey will be from Bahucharaji in Mehsana district. Former Deputy CM Nitin Patel will be present during this. Apart from this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the yatra on three other routes on Thursday.
