A case of gross negligence has come to light in Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. A pit was dug by the employees of the Bengaluru Water Supply Board. A two and a half year old child has died after falling in this pit. This incident is of Golarhatti near Magadi area. The pit was dug by the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to lay the pipeline.
No warning signs or barricades were placed around the pit, due to which this unfortunate incident took place and innocent lives were lost. An FIR has been lodged against the engineer and contractor of BWSSB in the matter.
Civic agencies of Bengaluru like the BWSSB have been in the limelight in the past due to similar incidents. There have been allegations of shoddy work and negligence by Bengaluru residents on a daily basis. Many deaths have also happened due to potholes on the roads.
Although this incident has scared people. Although the news agency ANI has not yet shared any information about the child.
