Gorakhpur: Accused of electrocuting a businessman was sent to jail, angry relatives had road blocked

On Tuesday, the police sent Mayank Dhar Mishra alias W, accused of electrocuting a hardware trader in Khajni, Gorakhpur, to jail for demanding return of borrowed money. On Monday, the traders along with their relatives staged a fierce protest, after which the police swung into action and arrested the accused.
Accused Mayank Dhar Mishra is a resident of Maumuktawan Khajni. According to information, businessman Ashish Jaiswal has a hardware shop in Khajni town. Mayank Mishra had taken goods from his shop on loan a month ago. It is alleged that on July 11, on demanding the money back, Mayank ran him along with his associates.
Ashish went to the roof of the neighbor’s house to save his life. Meanwhile, the high tension wire came in the grip. On the other hand, the family members allege that Mayank pushed them from the terrace, due to which they got electrocuted by the high tension wire. He is undergoing treatment in Lucknow.
There was a tremendous demonstration by the traders on Monday regarding this. The accused was arrested by the police in the late evening of Monday itself. On Tuesday, he was presented in the court and sent to jail.
