Jawan with seized ganja
SSB’s 45th Battalion jawans posted at Supaul’s Indo-Nepal border have seized 45 kg of cannabis. However, the smugglers managed to escape from the spot. Acting Commandant of SSB Alok Kumar told that the gang of Ganja smugglers will be caught soon.
Acting Commandant of SSB’s 45th Battalion, Alok Kumar said that secret information was received that a huge amount of ganja has been hidden in Palar of Kosi river near border pillar number 214/05 spur number 10 of Indo Nepal. It has been brought from Nepal for smuggling. Smugglers have kept him hidden in Kosi Palar of Indian territory. After verifying the information, a special search team was formed. A special search party consisting of Head Constable Brajkishore Singh and seven others under the leadership of Inspector Nawang Sikanji, along with their equipment and dog squad of the Corps, went out to search the designated area.
After reaching the Palar area of Kosi river, the search party started the search of the area, in this sequence a place was marked by the dog. During the search, it was found that something similar was kept hidden in sacks under the sand. The goods were identified as narcotics by the dog. After this the goods were seized by the search team. During the search, 45 kg of ganja was found, the price of which in the international market has been estimated at Rs 20 lakh.

The seized ganja has been handed over to Ratanpur police station in the district by the search team. Acting Commandant Alok Kumar told that the smugglers cover the sand and keep the consignment full of hemp from Nepal for smuggling through the river route. Seeing the opportunity, they work to bring him to the Indian territory. He has given assurance of catching the ganja smuggler soon.
