India’s Satwik-Chirag star pair continued their stellar form in 2022 to win the Badminton French Open men’s double by defeating Lu Ching-Yao/Yang Po Han of Taiwan. This is his 11th title. The one-sided match lasted for about 48 minutes, with the Indian pair dominating the court from the very beginning. This made it difficult for the opposition players to win.
The pair won the title by performing brilliantly
In the last 2019 French Open tournament, the pair of Satwik and Chirag had missed out on the title. They finished as runners-up and lost to Indonesian pair of Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. At the same time, this pair has won this title by performing brilliantly 21-13, 21-19. In 1983, Partho became the first Indian men’s doubles team after Ganguly and Vikram Singh to win the French Open title.
Indian players won easily.
Earlier, Satwik and Chirag had defeated former world champion and world number one pair of Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi of Japan in the men’s doubles quarterfinals on Friday. Tenth seeds Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy defeated top seeded Japanese players Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi 23-21, 21-18 in 49 minutes. Considering the performance of the Indian pair in the quarter-finals, the semi-final match was considered easy for them. The same thing happened in the match and the Indian players easily won.
