Fraud of 1.49 lakh from a person in Panipat: Cheated as an Airtel employee; Tempted to win bike-LCD on recharging of 156

The master of a factory residing in Azad Nagar of Panipat city of Haryana has been cheated of Rs 1.49 lakh. The miscreants interacted posing as an Airtel company employee. The master was tempted to win the bike and LCD after recharging Rs 156.

After this, a total of Rs 1 lakh 49 thousand 700 was cheated from him in the name of various types of taxes. The master came to know about the fraud with him when none of the offers given by him were fulfilled. After this the thug switched off the phone. The matter was reported to the police. The police have registered a case against the thugs on the basis of the complaint.

In the complaint given to the Model Town Police Station, Santosh told that he is originally from village Bara Tetaria, District Aurangabad (Bihar). These days he lives on rent in Azad Nagar street number 3. At around 2:30 pm on September 30, a call was received on his mobile phone.

The caller told that he is talking to airtel company. He lured her that if he recharges Rs 156, he would get a bike and an LCD as a gift. Being greedy, Santosh recharged. After this, he got 12 thousand 500 rupees for the documents of the bike through phone pe.

After some time the caller said that send 40 thousand 500 rupees, in a while it will double and send it back. Santosh gave him 40500 rupees on the phone. After this, he again made 3 transactions of 10 thousand, 7 thousand and 29 thousand 800 rupees and got it done in his account by luring him in any other way.

On October 1, he got a call from another number, which took 29 thousand 900 and 20 thousand rupees more from him in the name of GST. Altogether, the thugs got him to transfer a total of 1 lakh 49 thousand 700 rupees by engaging in things.
