Dr. Randeep Guleria
Dr Randeep Guleria, former director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), has taken voluntary retirement. Dr Guleria was among the key people who led the response team of the central government during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also played a major role in creating awareness among the people about the COVID pandemic and its treatment.
Was due to retire in April 2024
Dr. Randeep Guleria served in AIIMS for more than 30 years. The former director of AIIMS had applied for VRS after his tenure ended on September 23. Dr Guleria was due to retire in April 2024. Dr Guleria’s tenure as director was to end in the month of March, but it was extended twice. For information, let us tell you that he took over as the director of AIIMS Delhi in March 2017.

Dr. Randeep Guleria joined AIIMS as Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine in 1992 and formed the Department of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine in 2011. Dr Guleria took over as the Director of AIIMS on March 28, 2017 for five years. His term was to end on March 24, but it was extended by three months. On completion, he was given an extension of service for three more months.
