Flower farming became a new source of profit in Aurangabad

The trend of farmers in Aurangabad is now moving towards cultivation of flowers instead of traditional crops. These days Bhaiyaram, a resident of Mahuawa Panchayat of Madanpur block of the district, has started cultivation of marigold flower. Which smells of more profits. Arvind Malakar of the same village is cultivating marigold flowers instead of cultivating crops. The demand for flowers blooming in their fields is also increasing in the markets. Due to which Arvind is also becoming financially strong.

Leaving vegetable farming, flower farming, business reaches home to buy flowers

He also tried to get government help to promote floriculture. But till date they have not received any help. After which he has started marigold cultivation by taking a loan. In view of Dussehra, Deepawali, Chhath festival, he started cultivation of flowers. Their fields are blooming with flowers and businessmen are buying flowers after reaching the fields. Earlier, Arvind used to grow vegetables in the fields. But there was no profit in vegetables. Due to Nilgai, the vegetables used to get wasted in the fields itself.

In such a situation, Arvind thought of doing something different and started floriculture. Today Arvind is being discussed everywhere. The merchants of the city are arriving to buy flowers. The hard work of husband and wife has now started paying off.

Villagers mocked before cultivating marigold flower, now they praise

Arvind says that after a lot of thought, he started cultivating marigold flowers. All the farmers in his village do traditional farming. When he started flower cultivation, people said that it would not be beneficial. But today, seeing the field full of flowers, the people of the village are also praising him. They started marigold cultivation by borrowing money from people and husband and wife started working hard in the fields. The result of which has started coming out today.

Cultivated by getting saplings from Kolkata, getting rich today

Arvind Malakar told that Marigold flower started in the month of July and got saplings from Kolkata for Rs.400 per hundred. Cultivated marigold flower in three katha. Our motive for cultivating marigold flower was that there is always a shortage of flowers in our area. Flowers are not available to the needy on time. After which I took this decision and started marigold flower cultivation and today I am providing flowers to the people on time. There is a shop near Ghorhat Mod, from where flowers are sold and those who need them come and take flowers from home at any time.

Unemployed youth can also do employment at low cost, just need courage

Arbind Malakar told that educated unemployed youth can also do something by learning from this farming. One cannot always depend on others. You can start farming with very little money and earn lakhs. You can become self-sufficient by doing such farming and you can give employment to unemployed people yourself. He said that it is better to be a small master than to be a big servant. There is a shortage of skills in our country. Our country is an agricultural country. Gold grows in our soil, only hard work is needed. It won’t take long for gold to emerge.
