Argentina’s superstar goalkeeper Lionel Messi has equaled the world record of Portugal’s famous goalkeeper footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in the FIFA World Cup 2022 being played in Qatar. Messi scored his seventh goal in the FIFA World Cup today. Earlier, Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal had scored a total of 7 goals in the total FIFA World Cup played so far.

Today, on Tuesday, November 22, in the first half of the match played between Argentina vs Saudi Arabia (ARG vs UAE FIFA World Cup, 2022), Messi scored a goal and equaled Ronaldo’s figure of 7 goals.

In today’s match, Lionel Messi scored against Saudi Arabia in the 9th minute of the match. However, later on Saudi Arabia scored 2 goals against Argentina and won the match 2-1.

Let us remind you that the 2006 FIFA World Cup, played in Germany, was Messi’s first World Cup. The World Cup being played in Qatar is the 5th FIFA World Cup in Messi’s career. Significantly, in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Argentina reached the finals. In the final match, there was a tremendous fight between the heat and Argentina. The match was on par for 90 minutes. However, Germany’s Mario Goetz scored against Argentina in the given extra time and Argentina were saved from becoming world champions.
