Excise department team attacked in Samastipur

Villagers surrounded the excise department team that reached Kalyanpur village of Vibhutipur police station area late Monday evening to raid on the information of liquor business and manhandled the officials. During this, people also blocked the Dalsinghsarai-Rosra main road for some time. Due to the jam, there was a long queue of vehicles on the road. Later, the police of the local police station reached and pacified the matter. The police have detained two people during this period.

In relation to the incident, it has been told that the excise department team had received a secret information that a wine field had been planted in the house of an electrician near Kalyanpur Kali temple in Vibhutipur police station area. On information, the team of Product Department searched the house of Bijli Pandit. However, the liquor was not recovered during this period. After which the police started leaving from there, people got angry and people surrounded the excise department’s car. Shouted slogans and scuffled with the police officers. When Vibhutipur police got information about the matter, they reached the spot and brought the situation under control. All the products were freed from the police personnel, during this the police have also detained two people.

On the other hand, Product Superintendent Shailendra Kumar Chaudhary told that some indecent behavior has been done with the police team that went to raid, the police team has been sent there regarding the whole matter, the detailed details are still awaited.
