The dashing all-rounder of the West Indies will no longer get down to take on the opposing team by holding the bat and the ball on the field. He also retired as a player from IPL. Now Dwayne Bravo will take over the responsibility of the bowling coach of the franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for IPL 2023.

Significantly, after playing for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the initial 3 seasons of IPL, Dwayne Bravo joined the Chennai team from IPL 2011. Now he will replace Lakshmipathy Balaji as the bowling coach in CSK.

Remind you that Dwayne Bravo has been a special player of the CSK team that won the IPL 2011, IPL 2018 and IPL 2021 trophies. Not only this, he became the second highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL and was awarded the Purple Cap. The history of IPL tells that Dwayne Bravo took 168 wickets in 144 matches and scored more than 1500 runs in his career under the captaincy of MS Dhoni (MS Dhoni Captain Chennai Super Kings CSK).

Talking about his new journey, Dwayne Bravo said, “I am looking forward to start this new journey. Because, I was also interested in this role, which I wanted to do after the end of my career as a player. I enjoy working with bowlers and am excited about this role.”

He further added that he does not feel the need to adjust as much when a player takes over as a coach. He said that when he was playing, he always worked with the bowlers. Apart from this, he always looks at planning to be one step ahead of the batsmen. Now the only difference will be that he will no longer stand at mid-on or mid-off.

In the total of 161 matches played in IPL, the bowler will become the highest wicket taker with 183 wickets. Rather, being a part of the IPL was a big deal for him.
