India New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Police has issued a new order regarding the Kavad Yatra starting from July 22. Muzaffarnagar Police has issued an order to the owner of the shop and restaurant coming in the way of Kavad Yatra to put up a board with their name. Politics has also intensified regarding this. Opposition leaders are targeting the UP government. Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has also raised questions on this decision of UP Police. It is believed that he has made this comment on the order issued by the police in Muzaffarnagar on the social media platform X.

    What did Naqvi say?

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi wrote on Twitter on Thursday, “The hasty orders of some overzealous officers can promote the disease of untouchability… Faith must be respected, but untouchability should not be protected… Do not ask about birth, caste and lineage. Raidas, all are sons of the Lord, no one is of low caste.”

On the other hand, after the decision of the administration, many shopkeepers have already hung the boards with their names on their shops.

Mayawati demanded withdrawal of the order

Earlier, BSP chief Mayawati also demanded the UP police to withdraw this order. Mayawati wrote on the social media platform X, “The new government order to prominently display the full name of the owner of all the hotels, dhabas, carts etc. on the Kanwar Yatra route in western UP and Muzaffarnagar district is a wrong practice, which can spoil the harmonious atmosphere. The government should immediately withdraw it in public interest. Similarly, this inappropriate order by the Sambhal district administration of UP to teachers and students in basic government schools to remove their shoes and slippers in the classroom is also being discussed a lot. The government should immediately pay attention to this matter as well.”
