On the fourth day of Chhath Mahaparv in Bhagalpur, the people of the district worshiped the Sun and Chhath Mata and offered Arghya to the rising sun on Monday morning. With this, the four-day long Chhath festival came to an end. On the fourth day, 5 lakh devotees of Bhagalpur district offered Arghya to Lord Bhaskar at 300 ghats. Apart from this, many people also worshiped in artificial ponds, while some people worshiped by building a ghat on top of their homes. From the very first day, enthusiasm was being seen among the devotees regarding Chhath Puja. There was enthusiasm in the city from the streets to the localities regarding Chhath Mahaparva. Even the streets of the city were cleaned. Religious and traditional songs associated with Chhath Puja reverberated throughout the city.
The festival started with a bath
Chhath Mahaparv started across the country with a bath on Friday. On the first day itself, there was enthusiasm among the devotees on the Ganga Ghats of Bhagalpur. When people came to bathe in the Ganges on the day of bathing. Many people had reached their homes from other states to attend the Chhath festival. Kharna Puja was performed on Saturday to worship Lord Bhaskar. From the day of Kharna Puja, 36 hours of Nirjala fast of fasting began. Then on the third day of Chhath Puja, devotees offered Arghya to Lord Surya at the Ganges Ghats. After which on the first morning of Monday, people offered Arghya on seeing the rising sun, apart from it the whole Bhagalpur city reverberated with the slogan of Jai Chhathi Maiya.

tight security arrangements
In Bhagalpur, along with security, tight security arrangements were made regarding Chhath Puja. Barricading was done at all the dangerous ghats of the city. The police forces stationed at the ghats were keeping an eye on the fact that there should be no incident of any kind. Apart from the team of Riot Control Force, CIT, the entire team of Ambulance Fire Service and camps were set up by the doctors.
