Department engaged in reducing the stream of the river in Gopalganj: People breathed a sigh of relief, water has entered many villages due to breaking of ring dam

Efforts are being made by the Water Resources and Flood Control Department to stop the flow of the river on a war footing on the second day after the ring dam built near Banjariya Sitalpur village of Sidhwalia block of Gopalganj district broke due to the pressure of Gandak. Due to this, people will get relief from the fast spreading flood waters in the village.

In fact, the pressure of 4 lakh 40 thousand cusecs of water discharged from Valmiki Nagar barrage fell on the ring dam so much that the dam broke. As soon as the dam broke, the flood water started entering various villages of Amarpura Panchayat. The farmers have suffered the most due to this. Ready-made paddy crops planted in the farmers’ fields have been ruined.

On the other hand, if the local people believe that the dam has broken due to departmental negligence, if the department had rectified the leak in time, then these situations would not have arisen. At present, efforts are being made by the Department of Water Resources and Flood Control to stop the flow of water by making NC.

In this, the flow of jio bag and bamboo ball sejal is being stopped by the laborers. The Chief Engineer said that the situation is under control, the water level is low. There is no need to panic the people around.
