As soon as the age of 60 is crossed, the amnesia that starts will go away in ‘play-play’. At this age, about two percent of people are found to have dementia (amnesia), while by the age of 80, this figure increases to 15 percent, but now the elderly can prevent dementia by playing games on the computer. Will be able
In fact, doctors from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, along with other doctors, studied 60 elderly people. This study found that playing computer-based games exercises the brain and increases the ability to remember. The advantage of computer base game is better on those patients on whom this therapy is to be done from the early stages.
Senior Dr. Prasoon Chatterjee of AIIMS Geriatric Department associated with this study said that 60 elderly people above 65 years of age were selected for the study. These elders were divided into four groups. Of this, nothing was given to the first group, while the elders of the second group were fed the game on computer-based German base software. This game was in many levels. On the other hand, the third group was given food and drink along with games on the computer. In the fourth group, computer games, food items and other exercises were also done. He said that there was a significant decline in the ability to forget in the elderly who played computer-based games. At the same time, more improvement was seen in the elderly who eat, drink and exercise with the game.
Elderly’s session held two days a week
The doctor told that the selected elderly were made to play games on the computer twice a week for 40 minutes. There were a total of 40 such sessions. At the same time, exercise with games was done twice a week for 24 weeks. Through this process, the ability to remember was greatly developed. Dr. Chatterjee said that there are six domains in our brain and if stress is given to them, then the ability to remember pictures, names and everything else develops. The tension associated with all domains is heightened through computer games.
Mobile application will be ready
Dr. Chatterjee said that AIIMS will soon prepare software to provide computer games to remote areas of the country. Along with this, a mobile application will also be prepared which will not only be simple but will also be easy to access. Let us tell you that there are more than 40 lakh dementia patients in the country. Most of these patients are over 60 years old. After the corona epidemic, this problem is bigger in the elderly.
