The police has geared up to make the Dehradun Marathon going to be held in Doon a success on Sunday (today). Tight security arrangements have been made at the venue and the marathon route. On Saturday, DIG Garhwal Karan Singh Naganyal and SSP gave many instructions in the briefing of police officers, personnel.
The DIG said that all the police forces would reach their duty places from 6 am. Taking special care of essential services, ambulances, fire services, etc., will ensure that they are dispatched on the right route without any hindrance. By installing barriers on the link roads coming on the main road, we will ensure that no vehicle and animal can come on the main road during the marathon.
The BDS team will check the venue and the main road from time to time. Make sure to coordinate with the concerned department from time to time so that no kind of dustbin remains on the designated route.
To make the marathon a success, the venue Police Line Racecourse has been divided into five zones and 15 sectors. In which one SP, five COs, six inspectors, 28 inspectors, eight women constables, 11 head constables, 134 constables and 40 women constables have been appointed.
Apart from this, the entire Marathon route has been divided into five zones for smooth operation of the traffic system. In which one SP, three COs, eight inspectors, 42 inspectors, 14 women inspectors, 14 chief constables, 227 constables, 38 women constables, two company PACs, eight CPU personnel and 25 home guards have been appointed.
