Congress leaders met the SP and demanded the early arrest of the accused in connection with the deadly attack on the Congress district president and Maranga police station chief on October 5 in Maranga, Purnia. At the same time, the SP assured to arrest the accused soon.

In fact, in the late evening of October 5, during the Ravana combustion in Durga Puja, some people made a sudden attack on the district president of Congress, Indu Sinha, for a simple matter. Due to which Indu Sinha was badly injured. Seeing the clash, when Maranga police station in-charge Mithilesh Kumar Singh and other police personnel posted on duty went to resolve the dispute, they attacked the police force itself. The attackers thrashed the police station chief, police force fiercely. Even the attackers tore off the police uniform and escaped after freeing the arrested accused youth from police custody.

On the other hand, SHO Mithilesh Kumar Singh and Indu Sinha have registered case numbers 1036/022 and 1037/022 in Maranga police station against other unknown people including Kisto Yadav alias Manish Yadav, Surendra Yadav alias Sitaram Yadav Ravi Kumar, residents of Maranga. . Indu Sinha and SHO Mithilesh Kumar Singh have filed separate cases against the accused.

Victim Indu Sinha told that she had gone to attend the Ravan Dahan program as a public representative. But suddenly Kisto Yadav attacked and started beating. Kisto also snatched a gold chain of about 35 grams from the neck. Maranga SHO Mithilesh Kumar Singh said that after seeing the commotion, he went to the rescue and Kisto Yadav was taken into police custody. But he was attacked and taken away.
