Dead body of youth found in canal: Scarf was wrapped around neck and face, fear of being thrown, was missing for 3 days

The body of a youth was found in a canal in Janjgir district. A scarf was wrapped around his neck and face. Because of this, there is a possibility of his murder. It is believed that he was first strangled to death. After this the body was thrown in the canal. The matter is of City Kotwali police station area.

City Kotwali police station in-charge Umesh Sahu said that on Saturday, information was received from passers-by passing through the road across the canal that the body of a person was lying in the big canal of village Dhurkot, which seems to be 4 days old. The body has started decomposing, on getting information, the police team reached the spot. Later the body was recovered and sent for post-mortem.

On investigation, the youth has been identified as Rampal Kashyap. He was a resident of Dhurkot. After the body was found, the relatives were also informed about this. Then they also reached the spot and told that Rampal was missing since November 9. He was not aware of anything. We had also filed a report about it. It was told that Rampal used to do agricultural work. Police is probing the case from the angle of murder. The real cause of death will be revealed only after the PM report.
