Chennai Super Kings bought England all-rounder Ben Stokes in the mini-auction held in Kochi on 23 December. According to Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni was very happy with this decision. He indicated that Ben Stokes could be made the next captain of the team.
Ben Stokes was in fine form in the recent ICC T20 World Cup, 2022. Apart from this, he also had a special role in England’s victory in the ICC ODI World Cup, 2019. It was the first World Cup in the history of English cricket.

In his special conversation with ESPN Cricinfo, the CEO of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) said- “We were very excited to take Stokes (Ben Stokes IPL 2023), and our bid was successful. We are glad We wanted an all-rounder for our team. MS Dhoni was also very happy with the entry of Stokes. Chennai bought Ben Stokes for 16 crore 25 lakh rupees.
