    There was a massive explosion in a car in Coimbatore on 23 October.

    Coimbatore: Police have arrested 5 people in connection with the blast in a car in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on 23 October. Police have registered a case against the accused in this case under UAPA along with other sections. Please tell that the car in which the explosion took place was being driven by a person named Jamisha Mubeen. Mubeen was also killed in the blast. His WhatsApp status showed that he already knew that he was going to die. Some reports said that the accused were planning several big blasts but their plans did not materialize.

    NIA had questioned some accused in 2019

    The five arrested people have been identified as Mohammad Talka, Mohammad Azharuddin, Mohammad Riaz, Firoz Ismail and Mohammad Nawaz Ismail, and all of them are in the age group of 20 to 30 years, the police said. Some of the accused have been interrogated by the NIA in 2019. Police is also probing whether Jamisha Mubeen, who was killed in the accident, has no links with Mohammad Azharuddin. Azharuddin is accused of the 2019 Easter attack on a Sri Lankan church, in which 250 people died.

    Explosives were found in huge quantity from Mubeen’s house

    75 kg of potassium nitrate and aluminum powder were recovered from Mubeen’s house. The police had earlier said that these chemicals were used indigenously. bomb is done in making. The three arrested persons were earlier seen with Mubeen in the CCTV footage. Two LPG cylinders were kept in the vehicle along with small drums, which have been sent for forensic examination. According to the police, 3 out of 5 people have been arrested for helping Mubeen, another for coordinating between them while one person has been arrested for providing the car.

Annamalai said that he has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Sunday’s incident. “How long will it take for the chief minister to admit that the intelligence system has failed. Professionals should be brought back in that. The Home Department had good professional personnel capable of counter-terrorism operations before 2021. DMK came to power after the assembly elections held in 2021 and Chief Minister MK Stalin is also handling the responsibility of the Home Department.
