    CM Yogi’s Diwali gift: Four percent increase in DA and bonus gift to state workers in UP

    The central government had recently increased the DA by four percent. After that the state government in Uttar Pradesh has also taken a decision in this regard. Dearness allowance and dearness relief will be paid along with October salary and pension. This will result in an expenditure of Rs 296 crore every month. The total expenditure on the dues from July to October will come to Rs 1184 crore. Under this, Rs 387 crore will be deposited in the GPF of the employees coming under the old pension system. For the balance Rs 797 crore will be paid in cash.

    Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has approved to increase the rate of dearness allowance and dearness relief from the present 34 per cent to 38 per cent for state employees, pensioners and family pensioners. This increase will be effective from July 1, 2022. Along with this, bonus will also be given for the state employees. Taking the decision to pay bonus and DA together, the immediate cash outlay will come to Rs.1436 crore.

    Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has decided to give a bonus of Rs 6908 to each state employee for the financial year 2021-22. Under this, a bonus of 30 days will be given for the financial year 2021-22 based on the ceiling of monthly emoluments of Rs 7000. At present, there are about 14 lakh 82 thousand such employees in the state, who come under the purview of bonus eligibility. An expenditure of Rs 1022 crore will be incurred in giving bonus to them. For the workers who are under GPF, 25 percent will go in cash and 75 percent in GPF. Those not covered under GPF will get cash. Cash outlay of Rs 639 crore will come and Rs 383 crore will be deposited in GPF.
