Civic body elections concluded peacefully in Sitamarhi: Voters arrived riding a tonga, showing enthusiasm for voting in comparison to men

Local body elections were conducted peacefully at three places in Sitamarhi. Under the first phase of Bihar Municipal General Election, polling was held in an atmosphere of peace and enthusiasm at all the polling stations of Janakpur Road Pupri Municipal Council, Bairgania Municipal Council and Belsand Nagar Panchayat of Sitamarhi amid tight security arrangements. A total of 63.87 percent polling took place in Bairgania Municipal Council from 7 am to 5 pm. The same 57.29 percent polling was done in Pupri Municipal Council and 61.83 percent in Belsand Nagar Panchayat.

More women voted than men

More votes were cast by women than men at all the three places. In Bairgania, where 61.21 percent of men voted, 66.96 percent of women voted. In the same Janakpur Road Pupri, 57.28 percent male and 57.30 percent female voters voted. Apart from this, in Belsand Nagar Panchayat, where 59.35 percent voting was done by men. The same woman polled 64.56 percent. There was a lot of enthusiasm in the woman, a picture of this was also seen. Taking a four-month-old baby in her lap, a young woman reached her booth wearing a veil and voted.

Voters arrived on a tonga

A lot of enthusiasm was seen among the voters in Bairgania. Where the movement of vehicles in the city was banned due to voting. Meanwhile, some women and elders reached the polling station riding a tonga. Where voting was exercised by those people. During this, DM Manesh Kumar Meena himself was taking information about every moment’s activities from the control room. During polling, intensive vehicle checking campaign was conducted at all important places. During this, many vehicles have also been seized by the police.
