CBI raid in Gorakhpur: Now Chief Vigilance Inspector of North Eastern Railway also arrested, has been arrested earlier also.

After the CBI investigation, action is being taken against the officers and employees working in the main stores of North Eastern Railway. Now Rakesh Singh, Chief Vigilance Inspector (Stores) of North Eastern Railway, has been transferred. Earlier, the Railway Administration had also removed Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer Ajit Singh, while four employees have been transferred.

KC Joshi, Principal Chief Material Manager posted in North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, was arrested red-handed by the CBI on August 13 while taking bribe. The owner of the firm that won the railway tender through GeM portal had complained against him for demanding a bribe of Rs 7 lakh. After finding that the complaint was true, the team of Anti Corruption Branch of CBI, Lucknow was sent to Gorakhpur. After arresting him here, his office and residence in Gorakhpur and Noida were searched.

Accused chief material manager KC Joshi was given VRS recently. Apart from this, store depot employee Satyakam Singh has been transferred to Izzatnagar, Shivodas to Gonda, Prem Chandra Bhagat to Varanasi and Abhishek Ramchandra to Gonda. Now action has been taken against the Chief Vigilance Inspector. If sources are to be believed, action can still be taken against some more people in this case. Continuous action is being taken and there is a stir in the Railways.
