    Cavite conducts free rabies shots

    GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite: In solidarity with the celebration of World Rabies Day on Wednesday, the city government of General Trias held a free anti-rabies vaccination for pet dogs and cats of residents at Barangay Bacao 2 covered court here.

    More than 200 residents of the barangay and nearby villages had their pets inoculated in a campaign organized by the General Trias City Agriculture Office (CAO).

    According to Neri Marquez of the CAO, dog and cat owners must vaccinate their pets annually and register them at the CAO or City Veterinary Office in compliance with Republic Act 9482.

    In Cavite City, the local government here under Mayor Denver Chua performed free vaccination and pet dog adoption at Samonte park and covered court with this year’s theme “One Health, Zero Deaths.”

    In Bacoor City, the anti-rabies vaccination drive was held at Molino 6 covered court as Bacoor celebrated its 351st foundation anniversary. And General Mariano Alvarez, the local government conducted a free vaccination and forum at Portal Mall. Free rabies vaccinations were also conducted in the towns of Carmona and Bailen.
