Businessman arrested with 373 bottles of banned cough syrup: Police took action on the basis of secret information, cough syrup recovered from home

Last night, on the basis of a tip-off, the police recovered a huge quantity of banned cough syrup from a house in Singheshwar police station area of ​​Madhepura. In this regard, while holding a press conference at Singheshwar police station of Sadar sub-division, station president Arun Kumar said that last night the police got information that a large quantity of cough syrup had landed at Manzoor Alam’s house in Jhitkiya village.

Acting on the information, when SI Couple Kishore along with the police team marked the house and raided, about 374 bottles of banned cough syrup kept in 2 sacks were recovered from their house. This cough syrup is named Viscoff containing Codeine Phosphate which is manufactured in October 22 and its expiry date is September 24.

The station president said that at present one person has been arrested. The police is further questioning to find out the entire syndicate involved in the banned cough syrup business. Let us inform that in the past too, a large quantity of banned cough syrup consignments have been caught in different areas of Singheshwar police station area.
