The only British-era bridge connecting two states in Siwan district has now started feasting on death. In fact, in the dilapidated condition of this culvert, it is constantly vibrating due to the leakage of heavy vehicles. Due to which the risk of accident will increase. The Ink culvert, located in the Mairwa block headquarters of the district, connecting Siwan and UP, is the support of this 80-year-old culvert for the population of lakhs living in the border areas of both the states.

Due to the thin culvert, there is jam on both sides during the passage of big vehicles. Local people say that the culvert becomes an election issue at the time of elections, but it is forgotten after the elections. It is worth mentioning that this bridge built between Nauka Tola and Chitrasen Bankata of UP is also holding the strings of many relationships on both sides. This culvert is of great importance for the business and farmers of the border area. Sugarcane of most of the farmers of the district reaches Pratappur sugar mill in Uttar Pradesh through this culvert.

Many times people crash on this culvert and fall into the river. Many people have also died in the accident. Cracks can be clearly seen at many places on the culvert. It vibrates when passing heavy vehicles. This can lead to a major accident at any time. The local people here say that complaints have been made many times to the local public representatives and officials, but so far the dilapidated culvert has not been repaired.
