Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism Department said that the Film Facilitation Cell makes many efforts to make film making easy and successful in Madhya Pradesh. It connects all filmmakers with local line producers and actors of the state. MoUs can also be entered into with production houses to produce films over a longer period, so that filming facilities and subsidies can be easily given for more than one film. For international projects, there is also a provision of giving subsidy up to US$ 1.3 million. Along with this, subsidy is also given for setting up film infrastructure.

M.P. Deputy Director (Film) of the Tourism Board, Yuvraj Padole informed the delegates about Madhya Pradesh’s film tourism policy and achievements and innovation of the state through a presentation. It was told that Madhya Pradesh has many tourism products like rock art, textile, food, rural tourism experience etc. Some filmmakers have taken advantage of the lucrative film tourism policy of MP. It was also mentioned that 4 new film projects are under construction in the state.
Attractive subsidies are given in various sectors
In order to promote filming in the state, film makers are given attractive subsidies in various fields. Subsidy is given up to Rs 2 crore for feature films, up to Rs 1 crore for web series and TV shows, and up to Rs 40 lakh for documentaries. For international projects, there is a provision to give subsidy up to 10 crores. Apart from this, a subsidy of up to Rs 90 crore is given for film-based infrastructure development and up to one crore for the construction of a cinema hall. Also, up to 35 lakhs for employing local artists, additional subsidy up to 50 lakhs for showcasing the state prominently, and 40 per cent discount on room tariff for using state-owned hotels and resorts.
