Bilkis Bano Case: Hearing in the Bilkis Bano case was held in the Supreme Court today i.e. on Tuesday. The Supreme Court questioned the government for not showing the apology files. The Supreme Court said the crime was ‘horrific’.
The Center and the Gujarat government told the Supreme Court that they may file a review of the March 27 order, in which the court had sought original files on exemptions to 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano case. The next hearing on the petitions filed against the exemption granted to the 11 convicts will be held on May 2.
At the same time, the Gujarat government has opposed the order to show the file related to the release. He argued that the release took place only on the basis of the order of the Supreme Court.
Explain that apart from the victim Bilkis Bano, social activist Subhashini Ali and TMC leader Mahua Moitra have demanded cancellation of the Gujarat government’s order to release the 11 convicts.
