Former aide of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor (PK) has once again targeted Nitish Kumar. Prashant claimed that a village in Bihar is deprived of a road connecting the district headquarters to the district headquarters due to the 15-year-old incident of shoe hurling at Nitish Kumar. Kishor took this latest dig at Nitish Kumar while interacting with villagers in West Champaran district as part of his “Jan Sooraj” campaign.

Kishor is on a 3,500-km-long ‘pad-yatra’ of the state. Interacting with the villagers at Jogapatti, 32 km from Bettiah town, he said that the dirty, rough and dusty road is like a nightmare for the travelers suffering from asthma attack.

IPAC founder Prashant Kishor, who Nitish Kumar had joined JD(U) in 2018 but expelled less than two years later, accused Nitish Kumar of saying “I have been told that the road is not It is being made because someone here had thrown a shoe at the Chief Minister 15 years ago. The culprit is not found, but the entire area is being punished.”

After this, Nitish Kumar’s party JDU immediately retaliated. JD(U) national general secretary Afaq Ahmed said that “why is Prashant Kishor shying away from speaking out against the BJP, which has handled the road construction department for a long time during the chief minister’s tenure.” Ahmed said that “Since Prashant Kishor is a novice in politics, he is making such frivolous statements. He should know that Nitish Kumar is credited for changing Bihar.”

The JD(U) broke ties with the BJP three months ago to form a new government with the “Mahagathbandhan” (RJD, Congress and the Left). The JDU has repeatedly accused Kishor of being an agent of the BJP, as Kishor handled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election campaign in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
